Raikar Academy of Violin


Raikar Academy of Violin (RAV) - Pt. D. K. Datar Parampara, was established with a view to propagate the Gayaki style ( Vocal style ) our Mentor / Torch bearer Violin Virtuoso Padmashri Pt. D. K. Datar.

It was established on 18th June 2006, in Mumbai Inaugurated at the hands of Sitarist Padmashri Pandit Arvind Parikh and Violin Virtuoso Padmashri Pt. D. K. Datar.
Mainly to impart Indian classical knowledge in the traditional way Guru - Shishya parampara where the disciple is taught daily one to one.

It's mission is to popularise Violin. Violin being a tough instrument children try to choose to learn other instruments and to make it popular Acdemy’s Chief advisor and Violin Guru Pt. Milind Raikarji is putting all his efforts to pass on the knowledge and skill in violin to the students with love and care.

Panditji has developed few easier methods and techniques to make learn violin better. Pt. Milind Raikarji also has adopted western techniques of Holding bow and exercises for finger to make it smooth.

Main activities of RAV

Violin Gurusanman

Violinist who have dedicated their life in teaching Violin especially to promote Indian Music on Violin, create violinists and those who are rarely known to the world.Every year on the occasion of Gurupurnima celebration, such Violinists are honoured with the "Violin Guru Sanman".

Pt. D. K. Datar Puraskar

To Senior Violinist (solo Performer) who have dedicated their entire life for violin are honored / felicitated With Pt. D. K. Datar Puraskar and memento of Maanpatra.

Youth Festival

Youth Festival is an annual event organised to encourage youth by giving Platform from all field of Music.

Scholarship

RAV grants yearly scholarships to deserving students of Violin. Violin is also gifted to the talented and needy students.

Other Activities

Residential camps : where whole day students are immersed in classical music and practise with enthusiasm along with Panditji to recharge and energized.

Workshops

Regular workshops are conducted of learned and experienced artists. Panditji has published 2 books of different exercises to help students to gain efficiency in/and skillful playing.


Colors of Violin

Pt. Milind Raikarji has designed a concept keeping students in mind a new concert called “Colors of Violin" where his students perform along with him. This has been instrumental to built confidence of students to perform all types of music with group as well as solo. Their music reading skill is developed through this concert.

First Colors of Violin (COV) was performed in 2010 in presence of 2000 audience in Thane, Maharashtra. This has inspired and attracted many new students to learn violin. COV also sensitise students to perform for noble social causes like old age home, orphanage.

Now gaining popularity and spreading it's wings towards performing on larger scale. Academy students have started performing COV all over India places like Jammu, Goa, Pune, Mumbai. (which has been an instrumental reason for building up confidence and giving exposure on a large scale to students of RAV.)

Guruvandana

In collaboration with Indradhanush Foundation for Social Welfare (IFSW). Since 2015 RAV has started its annual concert" Guruvandana". First concert was dedicated to Gaan Saraswati Kishori Amonkar.
